SunnySide Car Service

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 18, 2026

1. Who we are

SunnySide Car Service is a livery car service licensed by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) under TLC Base License Number B01616, serving Sunnyside, Queens and New York City and the surrounding area. We operate the website at sunnysidecarservice.com. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean SunnySide Car Service.

You can reach us at 718-507-2600 or admin@sunnysidecarservice.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it when you book a ride with us by phone, use this website, contact us, or apply to drive. It applies to everyone we deal with, whether or not you end up taking a ride.

3. What we collect

When you book a ride by phone

  • Your name and the mobile or landline number you are calling from or ask us to use.
  • Your pickup address, your destination, and the date and time of the trip.
  • Any instructions you give us, such as a buzzer code, a gate, a terminal and airline, the number of passengers, car seat or wheelchair needs, or a note for the driver.
  • How you are paying. If you pay by card, the card details are handled by our payment processor. We do not keep your full card number.
  • Whether you told us it is all right to send you text messages about the ride.

When you use this website

  • Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the site that referred you. This is collected automatically and used to keep the site working and to understand how it is used.

When you contact us through the website

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in the message, along with trip details if you are asking about a booking.

If you apply to drive with us

  • Your name, phone number, email address, preferred language, and anything you choose to tell us in the application.

4. Recorded calls

We may record calls to and from our dispatch line for quality, training, dispute resolution, and to keep a record of the permissions you give us on the call, including permission to text you. Recordings are kept only as long as we need them and are not shared for anyone else’s marketing.

5. How we use what we collect

  • To take your booking, assign a driver and a vehicle, and get you where you are going.
  • To keep you informed about that trip, by phone or, if you have agreed to it, by text message.
  • To take payment and issue receipts.
  • To answer questions, handle complaints, and investigate anything that goes wrong on a trip, including lost property.
  • To meet our obligations as a TLC-licensed base, including the trip records we are required to keep.
  • To review driver applications.
  • To keep this website and our operation secure, and to prevent fraud and abuse.

6. Text messages and how we get your permission

We run two separate text message programs, and each one needs its own yes.

  • Ride updates. Booking confirmations, the driver and vehicle assigned to you, on the way and arrival notices, changes or delays, and receipts.
  • Offers and promotions. Discounts, seasonal offers, and announcements from SunnySide Car Service. This program is entirely optional and has nothing to do with getting you a car.

Agreeing to one does not sign you up for the other. You can say yes to either, both, or neither, and change your mind at any time. There are two ways we ask.

  • On the phone, when you book. The dispatcher asks each question separately and reads you the terms before recording your answer. Saying no to either does not affect your booking in any way.
  • On this website. The consent box on our forms is for offers and promotions. It is never pre-checked, and you are never required to tick it to send the form, book a ride, or apply to drive.

For either program: message frequency varies, message and data rates may apply, you can reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, and you can reply HELP or call 718-507-2600 for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. The full terms, including the wording our dispatchers read out for each program, are on our Messaging Terms page.

7. Your mobile information is not shared

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf, such as customer service or message delivery, is permitted solely for that purpose. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

8. Who else sees your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it. We share it only in these situations.

  • The driver doing your trip. The driver assigned to you receives what they need to complete the trip, which normally means your name, pickup and destination, and a contact number. Drivers are independent contractors and are not permitted to use your details for anything other than the trip.
  • Affiliated TLC-licensed bases. At busy times a trip may be passed to an affiliated licensed base. They receive the same limited trip information for the same purpose.
  • Our service providers. Dispatch and booking software, website hosting, email delivery, text message delivery, and card payment processing. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.
  • When the law requires it. Including requests from the TLC, other regulators, or law enforcement, and where we need to establish or defend a legal claim or protect someone’s safety.

Mobile opt-in data and consent are excluded from all sharing, as set out in section 7.

9. Card payments

Card payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number, and we never ask for your card details by text message or email. If you get a message claiming to be from us and asking for card details or a password, it is not from us.

10. How long we keep things

We keep trip and booking records for as long as we are required to as a TLC-licensed base, and for as long as we may need them for tax, insurance, and legal purposes. Records of your consent to receive text messages are kept for as long as you are opted in, and afterwards for a reasonable period so that we can show when and how the permission was given and withdrawn. Everything else is deleted or anonymized once we no longer need it.

11. How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, and we limit access to the people who need it to do their jobs. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take it seriously.

12. Your choices

  • Stop text messages by replying STOP to any message, or by telling any dispatcher.
  • Ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing admin@sunnysidecarservice.com or calling 718-507-2600. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.
  • Control cookies through your browser settings.

13. Cookies

This site uses cookies to keep it working properly and to understand how it is used. You can block or delete them in your browser; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

14. Children

This website and our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Children travel with us as passengers, and in that case the booking information comes from the adult making the booking.

15. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
